Overview
ExamBS modernises how institutions run examinations. Instead of chasing paper forms, schools can publish exams, students can register and appear online, and results and admit cards are handled digitally in one place.
It serves students from a wide range of cities and backgrounds across India, so it had to be straightforward to use and dependable on a slow connection.
The Starting Point
The institutions this platform was built for were still running exams on paper. There was no system for a school to list an exam, for a student to register digitally, or for results to be accessed online. Registrations were being lost to offline friction, and remote students were missing updates that arrived too late.
There was no technical foundation in place to fix any of it — so this was a genuine greenfield build rather than a repair.
Our Approach

Building the foundation
We built the platform end to end with React on the frontend and Node.js with MongoDB on the backend — a multi-tenant structure able to serve many institutions at once.

Tools for organisers and admins
Two dashboards: Exam Organisers can create and schedule exams, and a dedicated Admin dashboard manages the organisers themselves.

A smooth path for students
We built a student registration flow with automated admit card generation, so students receive what they need without chasing anyone.

Results and access control
A result portal with clear score breakdowns completes the experience, while role-based authentication keeps every user type in their lane.

Built for real-world conditions
The whole platform is mobile-first, so students in low-bandwidth regions across India can register, appear, and check results without a struggle.

The Outcome
The platform launched and conducted its first live exam straight away — handling hundreds of registrations from multiple cities. Students registered, received digital admit cards, and accessed their results online.
The response was positive, and ExamBS is now positioned to scale further across the country.
Reflection
ExamBS was a chance to build something genuinely useful from nothing. The interesting constraint was not the feature list — it was making the whole thing work for students on a weak connection, in a country where that is the norm, not the exception.
